Report: Atlanta Hawks Sign Lance Stephenson to 10-day Contract

The former Bearcat last played in the NBA with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2019.

CINCINNATI — Former Bearcats men's basketball player Lance Stephenson is back in the NBA for the first time since 2019. According to Marc Stein, the guard signed a 10-day hardship contract with the Atlanta Hawks.

The team is dealing with myriad COVID-19 issues and is turning to one of the G League's better performers for help. Stephenson recently had a triple-double (18 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists) with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.

He is averaging 19.7 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 3.9 assists with Fort Wayne this season. Stephenson is known for his time with the Indiana Pacers in the early 2010s.

The 31-year old was the 2009-10 Big East Rookie of the Year with UC and led all Big East freshmen in scoring that season (12.3 PPG).
