UC Moves up to No. 25 in ESPN's Latest 2022 Class Rankings
CINCINNATI — ESPN updated their 2022 recruiting class rankings for the final time before the next signing day on Wednesday. Cincinnati moved up four spots from the previous ranking to No. 25.
They are 19 spots higher than the next Group of 5 school (No. 44 UCF). They are also the highest-ranked team among the programs making up the new Big 12. Cincinnati was one spot ahead of Oklahoma State (No. 26) and a few slots in front of Baylor (No. 29).
"The Bearcats are making the most of back-to-back undefeated regular seasons, and a spot in the College Football Playoff," ESPN recruiting director Craig Haubert wrote. "They are putting together not only one of the top Group of 5 classes, but one of the better classes in the nation overall. They had landed some strong defensive line prospects, led by ESPN 300 DE Eugenio, who can be a disruptive edge rusher, as well as in-state DL Derrick Shepard and DEs Cecil Doggette Jr. and Tyler Gillison. They also have WR Quincy Burroughs, a raw prospect with good hands and high upside out of Florida. Three-star running back Stephan Byrd was a key in-state keep on the offensive side of the ball. On the offensive line, three-star in-state OT Ethan Green has an ideal frame to develop."
The Bearcats land similarly on other well-known rankings. They are No. 29 in 247Sports rankings and No. 25 in Rivals' rankings. Luke Fickell is building a sustainable powerhouse that's playing Big 12 football soon enough. Track when and where all of the 2022 UC recruits are signing here.
