CINCINNATI — Wes Miller and Bearcats basketball made a pair of splashes on the recruiting trail this week, starting with an unofficial visit from 2024 shooting guard Jonathan Powell out of Centerville (Ohio).

Powell is not ranked on a database, but he holds offers from Xavier, Ohio State, Illinois, Indiana, Texas A&M, and Dayton. The 6-foot-4, 170-pound guard is starting to see his recruitment heat up as his offense tends to do.

Powell is a microwave shooter who can dominate with the ball in his hands. Cincinnati could extend him an offer very quickly.

The other notable news came in an offer for four-star 2023 center Brandon Garrison out of Del City (Oklahoma).

According to On3 consensus, Garrison is the 62nd-ranked player nationally and the seventh-best center. He holds 11 offers, and his recruitment is looking like a four-team race between Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Arkansas, and Kansas. The punishing big man is drawing comparisons to the Miami Heat's Bam Adebayo. Click here and scroll down for Garrison's highlights.
