Recruiting Roundup: UC Makes the Cut for two Recruits; Welcoming Four-Star Visitor
CINCINNATI — The football recruiting trail is heating up as plenty of juniors get ready to make their college announcements this spring, and others see more offers roll in.
Things start for Cincinnati with three-star Winton Woods (Oh.) cornerback Jermaine Matthews placing Cincinnati in his top-nine schools.
According to 247Sports, Mathews is the 585th-ranked player nationally and the 51st-ranked cornerback. Rivals ranks him as the 69th-best corner in the class. Cincinnati offered him on Dec. 18, and his top nine includes, Indiana, Maryland, Pitt, Washington, Kentucky, Illinois, and Rutgers. Check out his highlights here.
Another player joining Matthews on the top school's reveal is Gahanna Lincoln (Oh.) defensive linemen Kamari Burns.
According to 247Sports, Burns is the 60th-best defensive lineman in the class of 2023. His top six include West Virginia, Pitt, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Indiana. Check out his highlights here.
Next up we have an offer going out to 2023 three-star offensive lineman Heath Ozaeta out of Mount Si (Wa.).
According to 247Sports, Ozaeta is the 26th-ranked offensive tackle in the country. He holds 17 offers from schools like Air Force, BYU, and Cal.
Finally, we have a major visit on Monday from four-star offensive lineman Waltclaire Flynn Jr. out of Grayson (Ga.).
According to 247Sports, Flynn is the 68th-ranked player in the class of 2023 and the third-best interior O-lineman. He holds 12 offers from schools like Florida State, Georgia Tech, and Kentucky.
