Georgia Tech's Jackson Finley Named National Player Of The Week
After a number of great performances through the past week, Georgia Tech's Jackson Finley has been named the National Player of the Week by Collegiate Baseball.
Finley was phenomenal as a hitter in midweek games against Long Island and Kennesaw State and then he had a dominant showing on the mound against Georgia yesterday in a victory.
He pitched four innings, giving up only two hits and one earned run and striking out four batters. Georgia Tech's pitching struggled in the first two games but Finley and the rest of the pitching staff were fantastic yesterday.
Finley was great behind the plate as well, belting four home runs for nine RBI while also drawing three walks. Hitting .356 from the designated hitter and first base, Finley also slugged 1.214 with a .471 on-base percentage (Per Georgia Tech PR).
This is not the first time that a Yellow Jackets player has been named national player of the week this season. Jake DeLeo, Angelo Dispigna, and Dawson Brown have also earned that honor this season.
Georgia Tech is 10-2 this season and is back playing tomorrow afternoon against Lipscomb at 4:00 p.m.
