Jake DeLeo Named ACC Player Of The Week

Outfielder Jake DeLeo had a tremendous week and was rewarded

It would have been hard to name players around the country that had a better week than Jake DeLeo, but there were not any in the ACC and for his performance this week, DeLeo was rewarded with the ACC Player of the Week. 

Despite falling in their midweek matchup against Wofford, DeLeo helped the Yellow Jackets win their second ACC series of the season by taking two of three games against the Clemson Tigers. 

DeLeo was fantastic all week. He hit .444 with three home runs and seven total extra-base hits (Courtesy of Georgia Tech PR).

For the season, DeLeo is hitting a team-best .436 batting average that ranks third in the ACC and top-25 nationally. He also leads the conference in hits (44) and total bases (79), ranks second in doubles (11), fifth in slugging percentage (.782), and sixth in home runs (8) (Courtesy of Georgia Tech PR). 

After defeating Clemson in their weekend series, Georgia Tech will face Georgia State at Coolray Field tomorrow evening. The game is slated for a 6:00 p.m. first pitch
