Georgia Tech set to face Penn State in 2023 Holiday Hoopsgiving in Atlanta

Georgia Tech will face Penn State at State Farm Arena

Another non-conference game for Georgia Tech has been revealed. 

The Yellow Jackets are going to be facing Penn State in the Holiday Hoopsgiving that is played in State Farm Arena in Atlanta on December 17th according to the website. The other matchups for this event include Auburn vs Indiana and Loyola (Chicago) vs South Florida. Mississippi State is scheduled to play in this event, but their opponent has not been revealed. 

Georgia Tech will also be playing in the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic. The Yellow Jackets will open up play in that event against UMass. The ACC/SEC challenge will pit Georgia Tech against Mississippi State. 

Penn State was a very good team last season, making the Big Ten Tournament final and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. They were defeated by Texas 71-66.

Georgia Tech will be looking to establish momentum early against this non-conference schedule. New head coach Damon Stoudamire will hope to get a win here in Atlanta against the Nittany Lions before conference play heats up. 

Miles Kelly, Kyle Sturdivant, Lance Terry, and Deebo Coleman return from last year's team and they will be joining the transfer class that Stoudamire put together. The transfer class ranked 17th on 247Sports and features potential impact players such as Kowacie Reeves (Florida) and Amaree Abram (Ole Miss).
