Georgia Tech's Miles Kelly Declares For 2023 NBA Draft, Maintains College Eligibility

Kelly is maintaining his eligibility, which could mean a return to Georgia Tech

Miles Kelly, Georgia Tech's leading scorer from the 2022-2023 season, is declaring for the 2023 NBA Draft, while also maintaining his college eligibility.

Because Kelly is maintaining his college eligibility, the door is still open for him to return to Georgia Tech or another school if he wishes to transfer.

The early entry withdrawal date for underclassmen who wish to maintain their eligibility is May 31st. Kelly has until then to decide if he wants to stay in the 2023 NBA Draft or return to school.

Kelly averaged 14.8 PPG and got in double figures in 25 games during this past season, including setting his career high in a single game with 30 points against Syracuse on February 28th. He also set the program record for free throw shooting percentage (89.83%) in a single season. He averaged 14.6 minutes per game as a freshman during the 2021-2022 season and shot 40.7% from the floor and 34.7% from three-point range.

It is going to be interesting to see where this goes. Kelly could stay in the draft or decide that he wants to come back and either play for new head coach Damon Stoudamire or transfer elsewhere. Kelly is a talented scorer who was starting to play well and more consistently last season.

Georgia Tech is currently undergoing heavy turnover on its roster. Kelly is declaring for the draft while Tristan Maxwell, Jordan Meka, Freds Pauls Bagatskis, Cyril Martynov, and Rodney Howard are going to enter the transfer portal.

The Yellow Jackets have brought in Florida transfer Kowacie Reeves and NC State transfer Ebenezer Dowuona and currently have the ninth-best transfer class according to 247Sports.

This team is going to look a lot different in the first year under Stoudamire as the program tries to get back to winning.
