Georgia Tech Football 2024 Recruiting Targets: Wide Receiver

Georgia Tech does not have a wide receiver committed for the 2024 class

Georgia Tech is working to build a 2024 class that could be the foundation for the Brent Key era in Atlanta and June is a big month in doing so. Official visits are underway this weekend and there are plenty of top targets on campus for the Yellow Jackets this weekend.

Georgia Tech has its quarterback on board with Aaron Philo (although the door is not shut on them taking two) but they do not have a wide receiver on board for the 2024 class.

In the 2023 class, Georgia Tech took three wide receivers. Zion Taylor, Bryce Dopson, and Eric Singleton Jr are hoping to make an impact for the Yellow Jackets this season and for the future.

So who could be the top targets for Georgia Tech at the wide receiver position for the 2024 class?

Who could be Georgia Tech's top targets at wide receiver in the 2024 class?

The first guy to discuss is Houston County wide receiver, Ricky Johnson. Johnson said that Georgia Tech was his No. 1 school in a conversation last month with FanNation's director of recruiting Brooks Austin:

"Georgia Tech, they're No. 1 right now, they contact me a lot, I got a lot of coaches that hit me up. They tell me that they not only want me, but they need me in their offense and that they are trying to build something great."

As far as who is recruiting him the hardest in terms of the coaches on the Yellow Jackets staff and what those conversations are like, here is what Johnson had to say:

"Mainly Coach (Josh) Crawford, Coach (Kenyatta) Watson. It is like we're friends, they really work to build conversation. They took me out to eat, I went on a visit, we set up an OV. I talked to the head coach and they treat me like family, like it's home."

Two other schools that Johnson mentioned as being among his top options are Standford and Pitt.

Jay'Quan Bostic (Cincinnati, OH) is a 6'3 180 LBS wide receiver prospect that plays at Taft High School and he listed his top 12 schools last month. Georgia Tech made the cut for the three-star wide receiver and they were among other ACC schools competing for Bostic.

The other schools that made the cut for Bostic include Michigan, Michigan State, Pitt, Cincinnati, Illinois, Boston College, Syracuse, West Virginia, Duke, Purdue, and Miami.

Three-star wide receiver Dakarai Anderson (Perry, GA) attended junior day at Georgia Tech in January but committed to Cincinnati in April.

Three-star wide receiver Koby Young (New Orleans, LA) is scheduled to be on an official visit to Georgia Tech on June 9th. Young has been predicted to go to LSU on the 247Sports Crystal Ball, but GT is still going to fight in this recruitment.

Johnson, Bostic, and Young are the guys that I have my eye on for now. Things can change quickly in recruiting and keep an eye out for more offers or a new target emerging.
