Georgia Tech releases depth chart for game vs. Wake Forest
It is the Tuesday of a game week for Georgia Tech and that also means it's time for another depth chart release for the Yellow Jackets.
So did anything change this week with the depth chart release for Georgia Tech?
At quarterback, Haynes King is the starter and he has continued to be one of the top quarterbacks in the ACC through three games. He leads the conference in passing yards and only has one interception this season. He has been one of the top transfers in the country so far and has helped lead one of the ACC's best offenses.
At running back, there is an "or" designation between three players, Dontae Smith, Trey Cooley, and Jamal Haynes. Haynes and Cooley have been the top backs for GT this year and have been one of the best tandems in the ACC. I expect them to get the bulk of the work again this week.
At wide receiver, it does not appear that Chase Lane is back from injury yet, which means another start for true freshman Eric Singleton Jr. Singleton leads Georgia Tech in receiving yards and a touchdown in each of his first three games. He is one of the top weapons on the offense and is only going to get better. The other starters are still Malik Rutherford and either Abdul Janneh or Dominick Blaylock. Christian Leary and Avery Boyd are listed as the top backups.
Dylan Leonard remains the starting tight end, with Luke Benson and Brett Seither as the top two backups. Both Leonard and Seither caught passes against Ole Miss and Seither has two touchdown catches this season.
One the offensive line, there is not any change. True freshman Ethan Mackenny remains at left tackle, where he has played well and Joe Fusile, Weston Franklin, Connor Scaglione, and Jordan Williams round out the rest of the group up front.
On defense, there are not any changes for GT.
On the line, Eddie Kelly is at one end, Kyle Kennard or Kevin Harris at the other, and both Zeek Biggers and Makius Scott remain the starters at defensive tackle.
Trenilyas Tatum and Paul Moala are the starters at linebacker, but this is a position where plenty of guys are getting rotated in. It will be interesting to see if that continues this week.
In the secondary, Myles Sims and Ahmari Harvey are still the starters at cornerback, with K.J. Wallace at the nickel. LaMiles Brooks is starting at one safety, with either Jaylon King or Clayton Powell-Lee at the other spot.
At kicker, both Aidan Birr and Gavin Stewart are listed. Birr kicked a field goal last week, while Stewart handles kickoffs. David Shanahan remains the punter.
