WATCH: Ball State takes a 7-3 lead over the Kentucky Wildcats after a 13-play touchdown drive
Ball State took an early 7-3 lead over the Cats after a 13-play 73-yard touchdown drive that took seven minutes and five seconds off the clock.
Ball State used two quarterbacks on the drive. One was the starter who threw the ball. The other was third-string QB Kiael Kelly, who came in and provided an immediate spark for the Cardinals.
Kelly had three carries for 21 yards on that drive, which got the Cardinals down the field.
Starter Layne Hatcher was able to score on a quarterback sneak from one yard out to give Ball State a 7-3 lead over the Cats.
Kentucky needs to respond quickly with a touchdown of their own. The Big Blue Wall needs to provide Devin Leary more time in the pocket.
There is a lot to clean up early in this ball game, but the Cats are still removing the rust.
Let's take a look at Ball State's touchdown to give them a 7-3 lead over the Cats.
