Kentucky Briefing: Kentucky basketball coach John Calipari named fourth best coach in the SEC
The Twitter page College Basketball Report put out their list ranking the SEC Basketball coaches.
Coach Calipari was lower than many would anticipate on this list.
The list was made based on "current ability."
Let's take a look at this list ranking the SEC hoops coaches.
1. Eric Musselman, Arkansas
2. Nate Oats, Alabama
3. Bruce Pearl, Auburn
4. John Calipari, Kentucky
5. Chris Beard, Ole Miss
6. Rick Barnes, Tennessee
7. Buzz Williams, Texas A&M
8. Chris Jans, Mississippi State
9. Dennis Gates, Missouri
10. Jerry Stackhouse, Vanderbilt
11. Todd Golden, Florida
12. Mike White, Georgia
13. Matt McMahon, LSU
14. Lamont Paris, South Carolina
Based on current ability, some might disagree with this list and think Calipari should be above some of the names above him. Musselman, Pearl, and Oats are all good basketball coaches, but Cal was recently ranked a top ten coach in college hoops.
The other takeaway from this list is that SEC basketball is getting better each year, and there are some great coaches in this league.

Lance Dawe wrote about the outlook for this Kentucky basketball team is seven-footer Zvonimir Ivisic is unable to play for the Cats this season.
"Right now, Kentucky has three different players that they could start at center. Ugonna Onyenso, Tre Mitchell, and Aaron Bradshaw. Bradshaw wants to play the four, and likely won't slide down to the five unless absolutely needed, but given his height and versatility, it makes sense to list him as a candidate at that position."
