The Almanac's Top 100 players of 2023-24 list includes three Kentucky Wildcats
The Almanac, published on Wednesday, with over 800,000 written words which, covers every team and conference ahead of the 2023-24 college basketball season.
The Almanac writers wrote up the top 100 players heading into the upcoming season - and three players from John Calipari's Kentucky Wildcats cracked the list.
Justin Edwards (39), DJ Wagner (81), and Antonio Reeves (96) each earned a spot inside the Top 100, tying Kentucky with Alabama (Mark Sears- 58, Grant Nelson- 66, and Aaron Estrada- 90) for the most in the SEC.
Edwards is the No. 3 ranked prospect in the class of 2023, with most NBA draft pundits expecting to see him selected in the lottery - if not right at the top.
Wagner will be running point in Calipari's offense, and the No. 6 ranked prospect will compete with Isaiah Collier (USC) and Stephon Castle (UConn) to be the top freshman guard in the country.
Finally, Reeves returns after testing out the NBA draft waters, and he'll give the Wildcats much needed experience and scoring after averaging 14.4 points last season.
West Virginia transfer forward Tre Mitchell (11.7 points last year) was a notable snub, while freshman Aaron Bradshaw and sophomore Ugonna Onyenso had strong cases to be in the top 100 as well.
12 Other SEC stars on the list include: Texas A&M guard Wade Taylor IV (11), Auburn big Johni Broome (30), Tennessee guard Santiago Vescovi (32), Arkansas forward Trevon Brazile (43), Florida guard Riley Kugel (44), Mississippi State forward Tolu Smith (73), and Tennessee guard Zakai Zeigler (79).
