Top-10 'Madden 24' Ratings For NFL Rebels

The Ole Miss Rebels have produced two of the NFL's top-20 wide receivers and top-10 tight ends, all of which have very favorable "Madden 24" ratings.

Gamers rejoice!

The "Madden 24" ratings have been released and, though no former Ole Miss Rebels are members of the coveted 99 club, one came pretty close. The Rebels are offensive-dominant in their top-10 highest-rated professionals with four wide receivers and two tight ends making the cut.

EA Sports' Madden ratings are calculated on a 0-100 scale for each individual attribute with more important categories by position getting factored into a player's overall rating. So, for example, throw power is a more important attribute for a quarterback than a kicker.

Here are the top-10 "Madden 24" ratings for Rebels in the NFL.

OT Laremy Tunsil, 95 overall

Houston Texans offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil is the second best at the position behind the San Francisco 49ers' Trent Williams. His 97 pass block and pass block power rating, as well as his 94 pass block finesse rating are all the best at the position.

Tunsil is entering his fifth year in Houston after playing his first full season last year and being named to his third career Pro Bowl. The 6-5, 313-pound tackle may be protecting the blindside of a new quarterback in Houston next season, as the Texans used their No. 2 overall pick on C.J. Stroud.

WR A.J. Brown, 91 overall

We all remember Jalen Hurts' bomb to Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown in Super Bowl LVII. It was magical, especially the edited version with "My Heart Will Go On" dubbed over it.

Nevertheless, Brown solidified himself as one of the most physical receivers in the NFL, making him a one-on-one matchup nightmare. The 2022 AP Second Team All-Pro selection is the No. 9 wide receiver in the league, according to Madden's ratings. He caught 88 passes for 1,496 yards and 11 touchdowns last season en route to a no-brainer Pro Bowl selection.

WR D.K. Metcalf, 88 overall

Seattle Seahawks receiver D.K. Metcalf is like Brown: a tough, physical receiver.

The viral internet moments of his shredded low-percent-body-fat photos as well as him chasing down Cardinals safety Budda Baker in 2020 still hold weight today as his 96 toughness is the second-best mark of any receiver in the league. He's been a steady hand in Seattle for his four-year career, logging a career-high 90 receptions for 1,048 yards and six touchdowns

TE Evan Engram, 84 overall

Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Evan Engram just got paid, and his "Madden 24" reflects it.

The highest-rated tight end in the AFC South is tied with David Njoku as the No. 9 overall at the position, trailing Travis Kelce, George Kittle, Mark Andrews, T.J. Hockenson, Dallas Goedert, Kyle Pitts, Darren Waller and Pat Freiermuth.

After five seasons with the New York Giants, Engram logged career highs 73 receptions and 766 yards, earning a three-year extension on his franchise tagged deal. He will make $41.25 million over the next four years, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

TE Dawson Knox, 83 overall

Buffalo Bulls tight end Dawson Knox proved last season that 2021 was not a fluke.

His 48 receptions, 517 yards and six touchdowns nearly mirrored his production from two seasons ago, providing a solid No. 3 pass-catching option for quarterback Josh Allen. Madden really respects Knox's first step off the line of scrimmage, as his 91 acceleration is tied for third best among all tight ends.

CB Mike Hilton, 82 overall

Cincinnati's Mike Hilton is a nice nickelback within a deep Bengals cornerback room that features Chidobe Awuzie and Cam Taylor-Britt.

Hilton has potentially found a home in Cincinnati, especially with the Bengals' success on the field, making a Super Bowl and conference championship appearance in back-to-back years. Madden gave Hilton man and zone coverage ratings of 82 and 86, respectively, after recording an interception and five pass break-ups.

WR Elijah Moore, 79 overall

The New York Jets traded wide receiver Elijah Moore to the Cleveland Browns and he has something to prove.

Getting bit by the injury bug for the second-consecutive season, Moore recorded just 37 receptions, 446 yards and one touchdown — all of which were steps back from the numbers he posted in his rookie season.

Moore's shiftiness in his routes still makes him a threat, especially on a team with a more stable quarterback situation, and Madden respected that with 92 speed, 91 acceleration and 93 change of direction ratings.

DT D.J. Jones, 78 overall

Broncos defensive tackle D.J. Jones didn't necessarily fill up the stat sheet in his first season in Denver, but his intangibles and physical abilities notch him as the No. 8-ranked former Rebel.

He logged 34 tackles and two sacks while plugging the run lane on Denver's defensive line, but probably what's most impressive about Jones' season is the six passes he knocked down at the line of scrimmage.

The Greenville, S.C., native's 305 pounds certainly shows through his 88 strength and 89 toughness ratings. His awareness and play recognition levels are also key attributes that likely factored into his 78 overall.

RE Sam Williams, 73 overall

Dallas Cowboys defensive end Sam Williams emerged as a solid option off the bench, finishing fifth in the Defensive Rookie of the Year voting.

In 15 games — none of which he started — Williams tallied 22 tackles and four sacks, which tied for sixth most on the Cowboys. Williams would likely appreciate seeing an uptick in his 76 power move, 65 finesse move and 73 block shedding ratings.

WR Jonathan Mingo, 72 overall

Let's see what the rookie can do.

Judging rookies is always half of a guess, so they usually get stuck with a rating somewhere in the 70s, like Carolina Panthers wide receiver Jonathan Mingo is. He's currently battling two-year Panther Terrace Marshall for the third wide receiver spot in the starting lineup behind veterans Adam Thielen and DJ Chark.

If he does end up rounding out the receiver trio, he'll likely have more than enough opportunities to boost his current attribute ratings since the Panthers will be behind more often than not and, in turn, throwing the ball more.
