Oregon Heads Into Biggest Recruiting Weekend of June

The Ducks have a top 10 class and are looking to make some noise as the month nears an end.

Oregon has solid momentum on the recruiting trail after landing 2024 safety Kingston Lopa

Now Dan Lanning and the Ducks head into their biggest recruiting weekend of the month with their best collection of talent expected on campus. Here's a look at some of the big names expected on campus and where I think things stand.

Aydin Breland

Breland is the top defensive lineman on the West Coast and a major target for the Ducks at 6'6", 290 pounds. He's taken official visits to Georgia, Miami and Texas A&M.

I'm not sure if this is the last official visit he'll take, but the Ducks have a big act to follow up after Breland saw some big-name schools.

The Ducks are hoping to land multiple players from Mater Dei in the 2024 cycle and Breland will be on campus with Oregon wide receiver commit and teammate Jack Ressler

Oregon already has a commitment from St. Louis (Mo.) Hazelwood Central defensive lineman and they'd love to add Breland in the trenches. I'm not ready to say Oregon leads but they're squarely in the mix.

Jeremiah McClellan

Following Tyseer Denmark's flip to Penn State earlier this week, McClellan becomes one of the most important visitors of the weekend.

McClellan looks to be focusing on four schools in his recruitment as the Ducks battle Mizzou, LSU and Ohio State. The talented wide receiver already took official visits to Ohio State and LSU, two schools that are known for their ability to develop wide receivers.

He told Ducks Digest that the biggest thing he's looking for is development, so expect Junior Adams to discuss Cooper Kupp throughout the weekend. Oregon wide receiver commit Jordan Anderson will be on campus as well and thinks the Ducks will seal the deal this weekend

Recent update

Brayden Platt

The Ducks have stayed involved with the 2024 linebacker out of Washington and he could be shooting up their board lately as they continue to battle Georgia for top linebacker target Justin Williams.

Platt is working for a top eight of Miami, Michigan, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Oregon, UCLA and USC. Oklahoma and UCLA already got official visits, but I think this is a player Oregon could be in the driver's seat for.

He's been to Eugene numerous times and has spoken highly of the staff every time I've interviewed him. Platt said he hopes to make his make his commitment behind the scenes in the next one to three months and plans to go public with his choice on September 4.

Recent Update

Kamar Mothudi

Mothudi heads to Oregon following official visits to Washington, Utah and Michigan State. I think the Spartans are the biggest threat in this recruitment, but this weekend should be a great chance for the Ducks to lock down his commitment.

I've had my prediction on Oregon since March and I don't see any reason to move it with a decision expected sooner rather than later.

Recent update

JacQawn McRoy

The massive offensive tackle from Alabama heads into his official visit with Oregon after landing a crystal ball prediction from Steve Wiltfong earlier this week. My pick has been on the Ducks since May 23 and I'm still liking their chances on the heels of trips to Arkansas, Kentucky and Ole Miss.

A'lique Terry has continued to make McRoy a priority and he's set to announce his commitment at the end of the month. The Ducks would love to pair him with Fox Crader and Brandon Baker at tackle in the 2024 class.

Da'Jaun Riggs

Oregon is still looking for their first running back commitment this cycle and the Washington, D.C. standout will make his way out west for his official visit this weekend.

I get the feeling the Ducks have been at the top of his list for a while now, as schools like Pitt, Minnesota and Wisconsin are also in the mix. But I think Oregon still has their sights set on Nate Frazier out of Mater Dei and Jason Brown Jr. out of O'Dea.

That said, the DMV area has been very kind to the Ducks of late and Riggs is a back I like.
