ICYMI: D'antre Robinson Includes Gamecocks In His Top 10
The South Carolina Gamecocks have done quite well on the recruiting trail to this point in the 2024 cycle, as evidenced by the Top 15 consensus overall class they currently possess. Clayton White and the defensive coaching staff, however, have struggled to land prospects along the defensive line, so the targets that currently remain on their board automatically hold more significance than some others.
One of these defensive line targets that remains on the board is Florida native D'antre Robinson. Robinson took an unofficial visit to Columbia back on May 31st and seemed to like what he saw from Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks Football program, as he included them in his Top 10 that he released on Monday afternoon.
Robinson's top group also included some SEC heavyweights like Georgia, Alabama and LSU, along with programs like Ohio State and Texas. According to On3's Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Longhorns are a heavy favorite to land the 6'3.5, 315 pound lineman. giving the future SEC school a 94 percent chance of landing Robinson's pledge.
D'antre also publicly announced his commitment date earlier that same day, which is tentatively set for July 21st. Unless something unforeseen happens in this recruitment, it appears that South Carolina is unlikely to add Robinson to their class.
