Where Will Blake Franks Commit?
It's no secret that Shane Beamer and South Carolina's Football coaching staff have made hay over the past ten months in recruiting the offensive line. These efforts have coincided with the Gamecocks' attempt to reestablish a stranglehold over the top high school football talent in South Carolina. So far, the belief is that coach Beamer and his staff could witness a garnet wave in the Palmetto state for the 2024 cycle.
The Gamecocks hope to continue their in-state momentum tonight with Blake Franks, an interior offensive lineman out of 4A Greenville High School in Greenville, SC, set to announce his commitment. While not holding the same national recognition as fellow in-state trenchmen Kam Pringle and Josiah Thompson, Franks has quietly developed into one of the best offensive linemen in the southeast, being named a two-time all-region player for the Red Raiders. Throughout his recruitment, Blake has accumulated 16 FBS offers, including SEC counterparts like Alabama, Florida, Auburn, and Ole Miss, along with Clemson, Miami, North Carolina, and many others.
It has been reported that Franks' commitment will come down to the Palmetto State's two in-state powerhouses in South Carolina and Clemson. Both programs have hosted Blake for a litany of visits. Still, the Gamecocks have seemingly had something cooking behind the scenes for quite some time now, especially based on the recent social media activity of player personnel assistant Sam Serbay and fellow quarterback commit Dante Reno.
Heading into February, the month Franks initially looked at to commit, the Gamecocks looked to be the favorite. Nothing has occurred since that leaves the GamecocksDigest staff believing otherwise now.
