Three-Star Offensive Tackle Dane Wleklinski Commits to Virginia
Virginia earned a significant recruiting victory in the trenches as three-star offensive tackle Dane Wleklinski announced his commitment to UVA in a social media post on Sunday. Wleklinski chose the Cavaliers over offers from 20 other schools, including West Virginia, Duke, Indiana, Cincinnati, James Madison, Appalachian State, Army, Coastal Carolina, and others.
A 6'6", 280-pound offensive lineman from Dublin, Ohio, Wleklinski is a three-star prospect according to Rivals and 247Sports, which also rates him as the No. 123 offensive tackle in the country and the No. 71 overall recruit in the state of Ohio. A talented multi-sport athlete, Wleklinski plays for the football, wrestling, and lacrosse teams at Dublin Jerome High School. Wleklinski was a First-Team All-Ohio Capital Conference (OCC) selection as a junior in 2022.
Virginia was a little late to the party, joining the busy battle for Wleklinski's recruitment with an offer just last weekend when he came to UVA for a visit. Wleklinski, who held offers from 20 other schools and who had already taken visits to Duke, West Virginia, and Indiana earlier this year, clearly didn't hold the Cavaliers' tardiness against them, announcing his commitment to Virginia a week after his visit.
