Bengals Take Utah Tight End Dalton Kincaid in FanNation NFL Mock Draft

Cincinnati takes the top player remaining on their board in the 2023 FanNation Mock Draft.
In this story:

CINCINNATI — The Bengals took Utah tight end Dalton Kincaid in the 2023 FanNation NFL Mock Draft.

It was a tough decision, especially with Notre Dame tight end Michael Mayer still available, but Kincaid is one of the best pass catchers in this draft class.

The 23-year-old has great hands and has the ability to make tough catches in traffic. He hauled in 70 receptions for 890 yards and eight touchdowns in 2022.

Kincaid is a great route runner, he's quick and he's great after the catch. He's drawn comparisons to Zach Ertz and Travis Kelce.

He didn't participate at the combine due to a back injury, but he's been fully cleared. The Bengals did meet with him in Indianapolis

It's also worth noting that Cincinnati has taken eight players that didn't go through physical testing during the pre-draft process since 2015. They aren't going to shy away from Kincaid because he missed part of the process due to the back injury.

He's been cleared and has recovered from the back issue. If the Bengals' doctors are comfortable with him, then there's nothing keeping them from using their first round pick on one of the best weapons in this draft class.

Kincaid isn't a great blocker, but he's passable in that area. He'll make his biggest impact in the passing game.

Kincaid would be Joe Burrow's best friend. He's a weapon that can be used all over the field. The Bengals could line him up in the slot, at the line of scrimmage, even on the outside and ask him to go win a 1-on-1 matchup with opposing defenders.

Some will be upset if Cincinnati passes on Mayer, but Kincaid is more dynamic and explosive. He might not be as complete as Mayer, but the medicals are the big question mark.

If he checks that box, there's no reason why a pass-first offense like Cincinnati shouldn't be all-in on Kincaid in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
