Bengals Practice Observations: Joe Burrow Goes Deep, Offensive Line Hopes to Take Step Forward

Cincinnati's offseason program continued on Tuesday
In this story:

CINCINNATI — The Bengals were back on the practice field on Tuesday morning as offseason workouts continue. It's still the voluntary portion of the program, but most of the team did attend.

Joe Burrow's deep passing looked as crisp as we've seen it this offseason. He connected with Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins in stride multiple times.

The 26-year-old was working on his play-action passing for most on Tuesday's session.

Burrow threw a no-look play-action pass to Trenton Irwin over the middle of the field while he was looking to his right.

Offensive lineman La'el Collins was on the field, but not participating. He was wearing a sleeve on his right knee. Collins underwent reconstruction surgery in January. It's unclear if he'll be ready for the start of training camp.

Cornerback Sidney Jones was doing individual drills with Bengals trainer Nick Cosgray. Jones was moving well. He didn't participate in last week's session.

Offensive line coach Frank Pollack was put his guys through various drills, including one where they had to hold 50-pound sandbags in front of them, while working on their pass sets.

Third-year lineman Jackson Carman continues to take valuable reps at right tackle with Collins (ACL) sidelined and Jonah Williams not attending the sessions.

Rookie wide receiver Charlie Jones looks the part at punt returner. He looked calm and confident while fielding punts alongside Trent Taylor and Kwamie Lassiter.

Long snapper Cal Adomitis had a walking boot on his left foot. He was at practice and was walking around. He also spent time on the exercise bike.
