Jonah Williams Details Jake Browning's Top Trait, High School Dominance Memories

Cincinnati is rolling with Browning at quarterback for the rest of the season.
In this story:

CINCINNATI — Jonah Williams is excited to block for his old Folsom High School teammate—Jake Browning. The Bengals' right tackle dove into some of those memories on Monday.

Williams and Browning led Folsom to an undefeated record in 2014, including a 68-7 win in the state title game.

"Closest game was 42 points, so every game was a running clock in the second half," Williams said. "We had a ton of guys go do one from there. Me, Jake, and Josiah Deguara in Green Bay all went onto the NFL. So it was a lot of fun. We had great coaches, one of our coaches is the head coach at Stanford now, Troy Taylor, the other coaches at Sac State, Chris Richardson, so it was a lot of fun that year. It's been great having (Jake) be a part of this team. Even though those circumstances are unfortunate, and it's exciting to get to play with him this season."

Williams rattled off the top trait Browning has displayed in his career.

"Outrageously good accuracy," Williams said. "I'd watch him just hit the crossbar just 10 times in a row, no problem. It was just ridiculous the way he was in high school. So as a football player like that, but mentally, really hard worker, and he's super even keeled. He's not going to be overwhelmed by it or have this fear or anything like that. He's just showing up and he's working."

Williams and this team have plenty still to gun for in 2023 as he seeks out a big second contract while helping the squad win as much as it can.
