Tee Higgins on Number Change: 'It Felt Good, I'm Not Gonna Lie'
CINCINNATI — Tee Higgins had to wait an extra season, but he's finally rocking No. 5 in 2023. He discussed his excitement with media members this week.
"It felt good, I'm not gonna lie," Higgins said when our own James Rapien asked him how it felt to have the jersey on. "It felt good to be back in the No. 5. A lot of work to be done in this number. Hopefully, I can keep that No. 5 legacy going in the family"
Higgins solidified himself as a top-30 NFL receiver while rocking No. 85, but he's ready to build his own legacy outside of Chad Johnson's digits.
He's eclipsed 1,000 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns in each of the past two seasons, all while being the second option on the team for most of that stretch.
Now, he gets to forge his own jersey identity as the Bengals continue pursuing their first Super Bowl.
