CINCINNATI — The Bengals are expected to take a running back at some point in the 2023 NFL Draft. It doesn't sound like star wide receiver Tyler Boyd wants Cincinnati to address the position in the first round.

"Trolling," Boyd tweeted in response to my tweet about Alabama running back Jahmyr Gibbs being an option at pick No. 28.

It looks like Boyd thought I was referring to Joe Mixon's jersey number: 28.

It wasn't my intention to troll Mixon. The 26-year-old is still on the team, despite plenty of offseason rumblings about his future.

It's cool to see Boyd come to the defense of his teammate, even if the exchange was a simple misunderstanding. It's an example of how close the guys are in the Bengals' locker room.

Cincinnati is going to take a running back at some point in the draft. Heck, there's a chance they double dip and take two backs with their seven picks.

The 2023 NFL Draft starts on Thursday, April 27. For more on what the Bengals could do with the 28th pick, check out our latest mock draft
