Cincinnati Drafts Offensive Tackle Joe Alt in Latest 2024 Mock Draft

Cincinnati is picking in the top-10 of the latest mocks.

CINCINNATI — Life comes at you fast in the NFL. 

The Bengals are currently slated to have a top-10 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and PFF has the team taking Notre Dame offensive tackle Joe Alt with the seventh pick.

"The Bengals' offense is a mess through Week 4," Trevor Sikkema wrote. "They could lose wide receiver Tee Higgins in the offseason, which would play into a need for offensive weapons. But until that becomes more clear (for a Brock Bowers draft selection), we’ll beef up their offensive line with Joe Alt. He’s having one of the best seasons of any offensive lineman in 2023, earning an 85.2 overall grade with just three pressures and no sacks allowed."

Alt could be a nice option for a Bengals team that's constantly searching for O-line help. Could is the operative word, as Alt would have to switch to right tackle with the Bengals after playing his entire college career on the left side (zero career snaps at RT as of this writing).

It would be a risk with draft capital that valuable, not because of Alt's faults, but the simple fact that Cincinnati hasn't developed one good offensive lineman under this regime, let alone a good offensive tackle.

Alt should be a tough player to screw up, given his track record at Notre Dame and prototypical size (6-foot-8, 321 pounds). He is the consensus best offensive lineman in the entire 2024 class.
