Bengals Placing Rookie Wide Receiver Charlie Jones on Injured Reserve

The rookie wide receiver will miss extended time.

CINCINNATI — Bengals rookie wide receiver Charlie Jones is going to miss at least four games due to a thumb injury that he suffered in Cincinnati's Week 3 win over the Rams.

The team put the 24-year-old on injured reserve on Friday afternoon.

Jones won't be eligible to return until Cincinnati's Nov. 5 matchup against the Bills on Sunday Night Football.

The rookie has one catch for six yards this season. He also has eight punt returns for 150 yards, including an 81-yard touchdown.

Look for Trenton Irwin to become the primary punt returner with Jones out. The Bengals acquired former Cowboys linebacker Devin Harper off waivers on Friday. He takes Jones' spot on the 53-man roster.
