CINCINNATI — Deal or no deal? That's a question plenty of Bengals fans have asked in recent days with the start regular season looming.

Will Cincinnati sign their star quarterback to a long-term extension before Sunday's season opener? There's optimism in the building that a deal is going to get done according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic.

"Both Burrow and the Bengals have kept major information from leaking, but based on my discussions, there’s optimism in the building and in the locker room that a deal could get done over the next few days," Russini wrote

Burrow is scheduled to talk with the media on Wednesday afternoon for the first time since he suffered a right calf strain on July 27. He was sidelined for nearly five weeks with the injury.

Now he's back on the practice field and expected to play in Sunday's opener. Having a long-term extension in place would be great for the Bengals and for Burrow.
