Browns WR Amari Cooper Comments on Team Potentially Adding DeAndre Hopkins
Like the idea of the Cleveland Browns potentially signing free-agent wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins? The Browns’ top option at the position has no problem with it, as Amari Cooper was asked on Tuesday his thoughts on it.
“Who wouldn’t?,” Cooper said on whether or not he would want the Browns to go sign the five-time Pro Bowl player. Cooper took the team-first route and said he wants the team to do anything that will help them win.
Hopkins remains a free agent after being cut by the Arizona Cardinals just over a week ago. The cost made no sense for a team that doesn’t expect to do a lot of winning in 2023.
“The more, the merrier. The more guys that can make plays, the more plays are going to be made. It's that simple."
Cooper is a 1,000-yard receiver and he showed that last season for the fifth time in his career with 1,160 receiving yards. Donovan Peoples-Jones continues to blossom and improve each year, then young guys like Elijah Moore, David Bell, and Cedric Tillman are there to help out too.
Whether or not the Browns are serious about signing Hopkins is yet to be seen. But Deshaun Watson has already said he would like him to join the Browns, and now the top wideout on the team would be okay with it. It will be something to continue to monitor up until training camp.
