Where Will DeAndre Hopkins Land? Next Team Odds Revealed

Where will Arizona Cardinals WR play at this upcoming season?

Arizona Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins put the entire football world on notice yesterday when his appearance on the I AM ATHLETE podcast revealed a few things.

Hopkins listed the quarterbacks he would potentially like to play with, what he's looking for in a new team and even what he foresaw in his future.

Hopkins - who hasn't appeared at any offseason workouts or team activities - once again has stirred the pot of trade rumors surrounding his name. Hopkins has seen his name in tied to plenty of teams over the course of the offseason, but where is he expected to land?

Bookies.com recently released updated next team odds:

DeAndre Hopkins Next Team Odds

Arizona Cardinals +200 (33.3%)

Kansas City Chiefs +300 (25%)

Carolina Panthers +550 (15.4%)

Chicago Bears +550 (15.4%)

Detroit Lions +750 (11.8%)

New England Patriots +1200 (7.7%)

Buffalo Bills +1500 (6.3%)

The Field +2000 (4.8%)

"He's prohibitively expensive for some teams," said Adam Thompson. "Hopkins' cap hit of $30.8 million for 2023 and $26.2M for 2024 is second only to Tyreek Hill among WRs. That will keep some teams away, but not all of them. Early indications were he wantsed to play for a throw-first QB on a competitive team – perhaps a slight dig at Kyler Murray and the Cards.

"Based on rumored internal conversations, the Chiefs and Bills are atop his wish list, which makes sense. Kansas City and Buffalo are now perennial title contenders, and are led by two of the premier playmaking QBs in Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen.

"Neither is in a spot to acquire Hopkins without creating a major amount of cap room. It doesn't sound like the Bills are very interested in the oft-disgruntled, drug-suspension-tainted Hopkins."

Will Hopkins end up leaving the desert? Earlier in the offseason it felt inevitable, but a variety of factors could keep him in Arizona, at least for another season.
