The Giants coaching staff is believed to be complete as of February 7, pending any more unexpected departures.
Current Coaching Vacancies/Hires
- Running Backs Coach: Jeff Nixon resigned to take a college job at Syracuse at the end of 2023. Joel Thomas was hired on January 16 to fill the vacancy.
- Strength and Conditioning Coordinator Craig Fitzgerald resigned to take a college job at the University of Florida at the end of 2023. Aaron Wellman was hired on January 16 to fill the vacancy, which has been re-titled Executive Director of Player Performance.
- Special Teams Coordinator Thomas McGaughey was fired on January 8. Former Jets special teams assistant Michael Ghobrial was hired on January 25 to fill the role.
- Offensive Line Coach Bobby Johnson was fired on January 8. Carmen Bricillo was hired on January 11 to fill the vacancy.
- Outside Linebackers Coach Drew Wilkins was fired on January 8. Charlie Bullen was hired on February 7 to fill the role.
- Defensive Assistant: Kevin Wilkins was fired on January 8. Zak Kuhr was hired on February 7 to fill the role.
- Defensive Coordinator Wink Martindale officially resigned from his position on January 10. Shane Bowen was hired on February 5.
- Tight Ends Coach Andy Bischoff is leaving the Giants to join the Los Angeles Chargers coaching staff, as first reported on February 5. Tim Kelly was hired on February 6.
January 9
- The Giants requested to interview Raiders offensive line coach Carmen Bricillo.
January 10
- The Titans requested to speak with offensive coordinator Mike Kafka about their head coaching vacancy.
- The Giants reportedly requested (and were denied) to speak to Daryl Ledford, the offensive line coach at Atlanta.
- The Giants request to speak to Chargers special teams coordinator Ryan Ficken. The request is denied.
January 11
- The Giants hire Carmen Bricillo, formerly with the Las Vegas Raiders, for their offensive line coach vacancy three days after firing Bobby Johnson.
January 12
- The Giants request to speak to Falcons special teams coordinator Marquice Williams. The request is denied.
- The Giants interviewed Ravens defensive backs coach Dennard Wilson for their defensive coordinator position.
- The Giants will reportedly interview Titans defensive coordinator Shane Bowen for their defensive coordinator position.
- The Giants request to speak to Panthers interim head coach and special teams coordinator Chris Tabor. The request is denied.
January 13
- The Giants are reportedly interviewing Saints running back coach Joel Thomas for the same role on their staff, which opened when Jeff Nixon took a job as the Syracuse offensive coordinator.
January 15
- The Giants are reportedly planning to interview Titans tight ends coach Tony Dews for their vacant running backs coach.
- The Giants have reportedly received permission to interview 49ers assistant special teams coach Matt Harper for the team's special teams coordinator role.
- The Giants have requested permission to interview Chargers defensive backs coach/interim defensive play caller Derrick Ansley and Dolphins linebackers coach Anthony Campanile.
- The Giants will interview their defensive backs coach, Jerome Henderson, for the defensive coordinator job.
- The Seahawks have requested permission to interview Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka for their head coaching vacancy.
January 16
- The Giants will interview Bears assistant special teams coach Carlos Polk for their special teams coordinator role.
- The Giants hire Aaron Wellman as their new Director of Strength and Player Performance position and Joel Thomas for their running backs coach position.
January 20
- The Giants interviewed New York Jets special teams coach Michael Ghobrial for their vacant special teams coordinator role. It is unclear on what day Ghobrial was interviewed, but the news was reported on January 20.
January 23
- The Giants requested permission to interview Bills linebackers coach Bobby Babich for their defensive coordinator role.
January 24
- Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka had a second interview with the Seattle Seahawks regarding their head coaching vacancy on Wednesday.
January 25
- The Giants hired Michael Ghobrial as their new special teams coordinator.
January 27
- The Giants interviewed Chiefs linebackers coach Brendan Daly for their defensive coordinator vacancy.
- Ravens defensive backs coach Dennard Wilson received a second interview with the Giants for their vacant defensive coordinator role. He has also drawn interest from the Rams and Titans, per ESPN.
January 30
- Giants general manager Joe Schoen told reporters at the Senior Bowl that the team expects to wrap up its defensive coordinator search by the end of the week. That would presumably eliminate Brendan Daly of the Chiefs since he can't be hired until after the Super Bowl. Also eliminated from consideration is Bobby Babich, who was promoted to defensive coordinator for the Bills.
January 31
- Ravens defensive backs coach Dennard Wilson, who was believed to be the front-runner for the Giants defensive coordinator role, has been hired by the Tennessee Titans to be their new defensive coordinator, per multiple reports.
February 3
- The Seattle Seahawks reportedly requested and were denied permission to interview Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka for their offensive coordinator role on new head coach Mike Macdonald's staff. Kafka had also been a finalist for the Seahawks coaching vacancy.
February 4
- The NFL Network reports that the Giants interviewed an eighth candidate for their vacant defensive coordinator role, that being Vikings passing game coordinator/defensive backs coach Daronte Jones. It's unclear exactly where the interview took place, but it was said to have happened at some point during the week of the Senior Bowl practices, where Jones was in town to serve as the defensive coordinator for the National Team.
February 5
- Giants tight ends coach Andy Bischoff has left the team to join Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh's staff.
- The Giants have hired former Tennessee Titans defensive coordinator Shane Bowen as their new defensive coordinator.
February 6
- The Giants have hired Tim Kelly to be their new tight ends coach.
- The Washington Commanders have reportedly requested permission to interview Giants assistant special teams coach Mike Adams for their special teams coordinator role.
February 7
- The Giants have hired Charlie Bullen and Zak Hukr to fill the team's vacant outside linebackers and defensive assistant roles.
- The Giants also promoted three current assistants, giving them additional responsibilities as follows: offensive coordinator Mike Kafka was named the assistant head coach; defensive backs coach Jerome Henderson was given defensive passing game coordinator duties; and quarterbacks coach Shea Tierney was given offensive passing game coordinator duties.
