CINCINNATI — If the Mackey Award Preseason Watchlist is any indication, then UC should have one of the best tight-end rooms in the country this season. Veterans Josh Whyle and Leonard Taylor made the list as we patiently await fall camp.

Taylor makes the cut after posting career-highs across the board with 28 catches for 268 yards and four touchdowns in 2021. Meanwhile, Whyle posted 25 catches for 320 yards and six touchdowns (second among all Bearcats) last season.

Both players will start in what analysts expect to be a heavy two-tight end offense. Also, look out for redshirt freshman tight end Chamon Metayer to make some noise this season as well.

Cincinnati, Georgia, Michigan, and South Carolina are the only schools nationally with multiple representatives on the watchlist.
