Ole Miss Hires Away Cincinnati Defensive Coordinator Bryan Brown

The Bearcats have a big coaching role to fill now.

CINCINNATI — The Bearcats football program is searching for a new defensive coordinator.

Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss have hired away associate head coach/defensive coordinator Bryan Brown to be the co-DC and secondary coach in Oxford.

Brown's defense was abysmal this past season, ranking 102nd out of 133 teams in points per game allowed (30), but he did lead the top sacking defense in the country at Louisville the year before. He clearly did not have the right personnel to carry over that success in his only Cincinnati season.

Now, he returns to his alma mater having been a defensive back at Ole Miss from 2003-06 and then on the staff from 2010-11

Brown and Scott Satterfield had worked together since 2012 as Cincinnati searches for a new coach in a key role.
