Pinging The Portal: Cincinnati Offers Marshall OLB Elijah Alston, Grambling RB Chance Williams
CINCINNATI — UC football is still perusing the portal after adding eight players to the ranks that way so far in this cycle. We start with an offer to Marshall outside linebacker Elijah Alston.
The 6-foot-2, 256-pound mauler generated 36 pressures this past fall while totaling 11.5 tackles for loss and six sacks (45 tackles overall). It all amounted to a 90.9 PFF grade, including a 90.5 pass rush grade.
That number ranked seventh among all defensive players nationally across 475 snaps. He would be a fantastic boost to the Cincinnati pass rush with one year of eligibility left.
UC also recently offered Grambling running back Chance Williams.
The sophomore tallied 890 rushing yards and six touchdowns as a sophomore on six yards per carry. It broke down to an 80.8 overall grade across 331 snaps at the FCS level.
The 5-foot-10, 170-pound back struggles with pass protection but is an elite runner who could firmly round out the depth in Cincinnati's backfield.
He has two years of eligibility left.
