Over/Under: Bearcats Win Total Set for 2022 Season
The Cincinnati Bearcats finished 13-1 last season, but after losing plenty of key pieces to the NFL, they're over/under is set at nine wins for the 2022 campaign according to BetOnline.
The fact that BetOnline has the Bearcats at nine is a testament to the talent that's still on this team and the recruiting they have done in the past few years. Cincinnati's over/under was set at 10 a year ago.
The Bearcats lost nine players that were drafted by NFL teams, and three more who signed as undrafted free agents. So the fact that BetOnline put a high over/under on Cincinnati heading into this season shows that they believe this team can still win games with the talent that remains.
While there is still a lot of talent remaining on this year's Bearcats team, there are a lot of players that will be taking on larger roles this season. Guys that aren't used to being in the spotlight and being the ones that decide games. If that creates skepticism with your expectations for this year's team, it's a smart play to take the under.
On the other hand, Luke Fickell and the coaching staff have been masterful developers of talent during his five years with the program. The new guard of players stepping in spent years learning from eventual NFL draft picks. They have the tools and knowledge to go out and carry on the success of those Bearcats in the NFL for this year's Bearcats team. If that's what you're thinking and feeling confident, take the over.
