UC Offers Local 2024 Center Raleigh Burgess; Four-Star Guard Trey Green Discusses Recruitment
CINCINNATI — The Bearcats football team is making a ton of recruiting news, but the hardwood hasn't been quiet in response. Cincinnati just offered 2024 big man Raleigh Burgess out of Sycamore (Ohio).
The 2022 All-GMC player is not ranked on a database and now holds two offers, with the other coming from Ole Miss on April 26. Indiana is also interested and could start the typical deluge of offers once a couple of bigger programs notice a player.
It shouldn't take long for Burgess to start earning a ranking after what he's shown at Sycamore and with Indiana Elite on the prep circuit. The 6-foot-10, 215-pound center is molding himself into the ideal modern big man. He stays efficient with his dunking aggression and is always looking to be an outlet up the floor. His ballhandling needs some work, but he has a decent-looking jump shot with three-point range.
Defense may be his true calling card. Burgess moves his foot perfectly in the lane and has great spacial awareness to go with even better timing on his blocks.
A player who could be throwing lobs to Burgess recently nailed down a late September visit to UC in 2023 four-star guard Trey Green out of Link Academy (North Carolina).
According to 247Sports, Green is the 88th-ranked player nationally and the 14th-best point guard. ESPN has Green at No. 89 in the ESPN 60 and slotted him 22nd among point guards. He recently told Rivals' Travis Graf how he feels about Cincy ahead of the visit.
"I love coach (Wes) Miller over at Cincinnati. He’s a great coach, and he’s done it—been a point guard at a high level as well. I feel like I could benefit if I do make that transition over there.”
Cincinnati would love to cement its Big 12 backcourt with Green and five-star PG Isaiah Collier potentially joining Hometown Hero Rayvon Griffith in Clifton.
