Recruiting Roundup: Bearcats Lock Down Four Visits Among Top 2023 Targets
CINCINNATI — June is shaping up to be a busy month in recruiting circles for Bearcats football. The team has plenty of visits lined up and is still sending out notable offers. Official visits ramp back up with 2023 three-star edge rusher Jordan Mayer out of Thomas Jefferson (Pennsylvania) coming to Clifton this Thursday.
According to On3 consensus, Mayer is the 995th-ranked player nationally and the 77th-ranked edge. He holds 24 offers and Cincinnati will have to get ahead of Wisconsin to land the talent. On3 gives Wisco a 55.6% chance of signing Mayer. Check out his highlights here.
Next up is 2023 three-star cornerback Jermaine Mathews out of Winton Woods (Ohio).
According to On3 consensus, Matthews is the 553rd-ranked player nationally and 54th-ranked corner. He holds offers from 31 schools like Kentucky, Miami (OH), and Pittsburgh. Matthews put UC in his top-nine schools last month and On3 has Cincinnati as the favorite to land him (32.6%). Check out his highlights here.
Another 2023 target is taking an official visit alongside Jermaine Matthews in three-star running back Manny Covey out of Bradford (Florida).
According to On3, Covey is the 40th-ranked running back nationally. He has 12 offers from schools like Tulane, Kansas, and Iowa State. Check out his highlights here.
The big-time June visits continue with 2023 three-star defensive lineman Kamari Burns out of Gahanna Lincoln (Ohio).
According to On3 consensus, Burns is the 498th-ranked player in the class and the 59th-ranked defensive lineman. He placed Cincinnati in his top six last month alongside West Virginia, Pitt, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Indiana.
On3 gives Cincinnati a whopping 55% chance to land Burns, the next closest team is UK at 12.9%. Check out his highlights here.
The offer list starts with four-star 2023 safety Marvin Burks Jr. out of Cardinal Ritter College Prep (Missouri).
According to On3 consensus, Burks is the 324th-ranked player nationally and the 28th-ranked safety. He holds offers from 33 schools and looks like a lock to land at Missouri. On3 gives them a 94.7% chance to nab the in-state recruit. Check out his highlights here.
Next up is four-star 2023 wide receiver Ayden Greene out of Powell (Tennessee).
According to On3 consensus, Greene is the 391st-ranked player in the class and the 57th-ranked wide receiver. He holds 16 offers from schools like Virginia Tech, Arkansas, and Memphis. On3 gives VT a 58% chance to sign Greene. Check out his highlights here.
