Indiana Kicker Chris Freeman Enters Transfer Portal
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana kicker Chris Freeman announced his plans to enter the transfer portal Monday on social media. He has two years of remaining eligibility.
Freeman was Indiana's kickoff specialist during the 2022 season. During fall camp before the 2023 season, he won the starting field goal kicker competition against freshman Nico Radicic.
Freeman made 29-of-30 extra-point attempts and 10-of-14 field goals, the longest coming from 50 yards. He also executed a successful onside kick that helped Indiana mount a comeback against Louisville.
If Freeman remains in the portal through the coaching change, all signs point to Radicic handling kicking duties for Indiana in 2024, unless he also chooses to transfer. Radicic was considered a five-star recruit out of Coppell High School in Texas.
