CINCINNATI — The Reds continue to pursue high-end starting pitchers this offseason. Those talks include Rays ace Tyler Glasnow and American League Cy Young winner Shane Bieber.

The Reds and Guardians have discussed a possible trade involving Bieber according to Jon Morosi of MLB Network.

The 28-year-old right hander dealt with forearm and elbow injuries last season, but still posted a 3.80 ERA and pitched 128 innings.

Bieber became one of the best starting pitchers in baseball during the 2019 campaign, before posting a 1.63 ERA and winning the Cy Young Award in 2020.

The Cubs are also interesting in the Guardians' ace. He's in the final year of his contract and will be a free agent in 2025. Bieber is projected to make $12.2 million this season, which makes him even more attractive.

Cincinnati has a nice group of young prospects that they could use to land a pitcher like Bieber.

Adding him would bring stability and experience to a rotation that includes Hunter Greene, Nick Lodolo and Graham Ashcraft.
