Cincinnati Reds Officially Announce Nick Martinez Signing
CINCINNATI — The Reds officially signed Nick Martinez on Friday afternoon.
The deal is for two years, $26 million according to Jeff Passan. Martinez has the ability to opt out after year one.
Martinez spent the last two seasons with the San Diego Padres. He's expected to be part of Cincinnati's rotation. He has plenty of experience as a reliever if things don't go well as a starter.
He posted a 3.45 ERA in 110 games, starting 19 of them, and tossed 216 2/3 innings over the past two seasons.
