Report: Reds Signing Reliever Emilio Pagan to Two-Year Contract in Free Agency
CINCINNATI — The Reds are signing veteran reliever Emilio Pagan to a two-year contract according to Jon Heyman of the New York Post.
The deal is worth $16 million and includes a player option after the first year according to Ken Rosenthal.
The 32-year-old appeared in 66 games for the Twins last season, posting a 2.99 ERA and a 0.95 WHIP. He has a 3.71 ERA in seven major league seasons. He's also spent time with the Mariners, Athletics, Rays and Padres.
This is the Reds first significant addition of the offseason. It gives them another reliable option in the bullpen. It also shows that general manager Nick Krall has gotten the green light to add to the roster in free agency.
