La'el Collins Works Out For Jets, Has Visit Scheduled With Giants
CINCINNATI — Former Bengals and Cowboys right tackle La'el Collins worked out for the New York Jets on Tuesday according to the NFL's official transaction wire.
The Bengals released him last month and saved at least $6.2 million in cap space.
Collins suffered a torn ACL in December, but was officially cleared shortly after Cincinnati moved on from the former Pro Bowler.
The 30-year-old is going to visit the Giants on Tuesday according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. Collins started 15 games for the Bengals last season before his injury.
He was cleared to play in late September and is working his way back into playing shape. The Bengals knew he was at least a month away from returning to the field when they released him after their Week 1 loss to the Browns.
