Aaron Rodgers Trade Makes 2023 Cleveland Browns Schedule a bit Tougher
When Aaron Rodgers was shipped to the New York Jets today, it officially made the Cleveland Browns’ schedule a bit tougher. It was already known where Rodgers would land, but you can now book it, the AFC dominates the quarterback rankings.
The New York Jets are scheduled to play at Cleveland Browns Stadium in 2023 with a boatload of talent around them. You can’t hide the fact that the Jets should be taken seriously now with a legit, proven quarterback leading their offense.
Rodgers is certainly an upgrade over Zach Wilson and expects him to bounce back from a down 2022 season to his terms. Rodgers threw 12 interceptions in 2022, which was the most he had thrown since 2010. He certainly had the least amount of talent around him that he’s had in quite some time.
The Jets were 7-10 in 2022 with Joe Flacco, Zach Wilson, and Mike White. The team had a breakout rookie in WR Garrett Wilson and another on defense in CB Sauce Gardner. Cleveland may have gotten WR Elijah Moore from New York but they still boast a talented room in Wilson, Allen Lazard, Corey Davis, Denzel Mims, and Mecole Hardman. It’s worth favoring in the No. 15 pick that the Jets have to become even better with.
In 2022, Cleveland will play Lamar Jackson (if he resigns with Baltimore) and Joe Burrow twice, Justin Fields, and Trevor Lawrence. That’s some of the top quarterbacks that are currently on teams within their 2023 schedule. Teams like the Tennessee Titans, Indianapolis Colts, San Francisco 49ers, and Houston Texans still could add new quarterbacks.
With today's news of Rodgers being officially moved, the Browns 2023 schedule looks pretty light right now, just got a bit tougher.
