ESPN Predicts Cleveland Browns 2023 Record, Playoff Chances

Cleveland Browns 2023 season could ride on needing to prove people wrong.
In this story:

It is projection season with the majority of the NFL offseason in the past. Cleveland Browns come in at an expected spot in ESPN’s NFL Power Football Index.

Cleveland was picked to finish 14th in the entire power rankings for the NFL, to go along with a record of 9-8. The Browns went 7-10 last season — so it would be a two-game improvement — but maybe not enough to reach the playoffs. Winning 10 games gives you a pretty good chance of reaching the postseason.

The predictions have the Browns at third in the AFC North, with the Pittsburgh Steelers finishing last. ESPN gave the Browns a 14 percent chance to win the division and a 1.2 percent chance to win the Super Bowl.

To go along with the record prediction, ESPN has the Browns with a 38.5 percent chance to make the playoffs.

Cleveland made big improvements in their 2023 offseason on the defensive side especially. Not making the playoffs in 2023 would likely call for a coaching change in Kevin Stefanski. Such a thing is a far-off thought right now, as Stefanski has had the Browns’ offense humming during his tenure.

The Browns hope to have made the changes on the defensive side of the ball to contend for a playoff run. These ESPN predictions give them a chance to get there.
