Browns Agree to new Deal With LB Sione Takitaki
A sign of confidence you can call it. Cleveland Browns are keeping one of their own in LB Sione Takitaki. Browns Digest can confirm that Takitaki will stay in Cleveland on a one-year deal worth $2.6 million, originally reported by Jeremy Fowler.
Takitaki is a third-round pick of the Browns from the 2019 draft and has provided nice depth in the linebacker room. Takitaki made eight starts last year to go along with a career high 71 tackles. He forced a fumble and had a sack in 2022, as well.
Resigning Takitaki is a good deal for him tearing his ACL in December. Cleveland may not see Takitaki at the start of the season but he's expected to play early on.
While in Cleveland, Takitaki has become a very solid run stopper. Last year he showed the ability to move from SAM to MIKE as needed due to injuries.
Cleveland is able to keep one of their own and a player that was drafted here. That's normally a win.
