Cleveland Browns Workout Free Agent Running Back

Perhaps it’s not the name you would expect but the Cleveland Browns are workout out a free-agent running back. Devine Ozigbo is set to work out for the Browns, per a report. Ozigbo last appeared in the NFL with the Denver Broncos last season, where he played in four games.

During those four games with the dysfunctional Broncos, Ozigbo had just one catch and three rushes. To this point in his career, he’s done more receiving-wise compared to what he’s done running the ball. Ozigbo has 14 catches for 75 receiving yards, and 14 rushes for 29 yards on the ground. He is yet to score a touchdown.

Ozigbo got his start in 2019 with the Jacksonville Jaguars after being an undrafted free agent out of Nebraska. Ozigbo won’t beat you with speed, he ran just a 4.65 at his Nebraska Pro Day in 2019. He’s more of a bruiser who looks to get tough yards. His vertical leap of 37 inches stands shows he can be a bit explosive at his size.

In 2021, Ozigbo also appeared in two games with the New Orleans Saints. But if you know his name it’s likely from his time with the Jaguars, where he played in 19 games in three seasons.

Ozigbo could be a body the Browns get to camp if the workout goes well and they see what he’s got. He could get a bit of work in training camp, as Cleveland certainly won’t play Nick Chubb. Expect Jerome Ford, Hassan Hall, and John Kelley Jr. to handle much of that work.

Cleveland and GM Andrew Berry continue to look down every Avenue to see what talent is out there. The Browns could perhaps add another running back roster and it now looks like they’re looking to.
