First Team All-MAC Linebacker Ivan Pace Jr. Enters Transfer Portal
CINCINNATI — Miami RedHawks linebacker Ivan Pace Jr. announced he has entered the transfer portal. Pace was a first-team All-MAC linebacker this season and is the brother of UC linebacker Deshawn Pace.
Miami wrapped up its season with a 27-14 win in the Frisco Football Classic on Thursday. Pace notched nine tackles and posted his portal status on Twitter the next day.
Slice the argument anyway, and Pace should be a coveted target in the portal. He posted 125 tackles this season which ranked second in the MAC along with one interception and four sacks. The six-foot, 239-pound linebacker tallied an 88.3 PFF Grade and an elite 41.3% pressure rate as a pass rusher.
With some of the linebacker experience leaving after the College Football Playoff, pairing the brothers up could be a welcome idea in the pursuit of a sustained run in Clifton. Cincinnati was the only other school to offer the two-star linebacker from the Class of 2019.
Ivan Jr. and Deshawn—born 15 months apart—both played at Colerain High School together in Cincinnati before going to rival schools. Fellow UC linebacker Darrian Beavers also attended Colerain.
