Rodney Howard Enters The Transfer Portal

Howard will be in the portal after three years at Georgia Tech

Georgia Tech had its first player enter the transfer portal last week when freshman forward Freds Pauls Bagatskis decided to transfer. The second Yellow Jacket jumped in today and it was center Rodney Howard.

Kelly Quinlan of JacketsOnline first reported the news.

After transferring from Georgia after the 2019-2020 season, Howard played some during his first season in Atlanta on the ACC Tournament title team before his role grew bigger the next season.

Howard averaged 6.5 PPF and 5.1 RPG, as well as 1.5 APG during the 2021-2022 season. He was projected to be one of the main pieces on this past year's team, but Ja'von Franklin had a huge breakout season and Howard's role quickly diminished for the Yellow Jackets. He averaged 4. 5 PPPG and 4.3 RPG last year in 24 games played.

Georgia Tech has been active in the transfer portal since the hiring of Damon Stoudamire as the new head coach. They got their first commitment from the portal today with NC State transfer Ebenezer Dowuona committing to the Yellow Jackets today.

Best of luck to Rodney wherever he lands!
