Former Yellow Jacket Roman Reigns Retains WWE Championship At Wrestlemania 39
On what was an electric night at SoFi Stadium, former Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket Roman Reigns (Joe Anoai) wrestled Cody Rhodes in the main event at Wrestlemania 39.
It was a great back-and-forth match that ended with Roman Reigns coming out on top to end a great weekend event at Wrestlemania and Reigns is still on top of the wrestling world after tonight.
Before he was a WWE superstar and a heavyweight champion though, Roman Reigns was a football star at Georgia Tech.
Anoai was a three-year starter for the Yellow Jackets and was a former All-ACC defensive tackle. He was teammates with Georgia Tech legend Calvin Johnson as well. His best season was in 2006 when he tallied 40 tackles and 4.5 sacks. He went undrafted in the 2007 NFL Draft and was then signed by the Minnesota Vikings before being released and then signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
