Cincinnati Reds Move Up 11 Spots, Win No. 2 Overall Pick in 2024 MLB Draft
CINCINNATI — The Reds were one of the biggest surprises of the 2023 season, quickly becoming one of the most entertaining teams in the majors.
The organization already has one of the top farm systems in all of baseball. They have a chance to add another top talent after being awarded the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft. Cincinnati jumped 11 positions in MLB's second annual draft lottery.
It's the fourth time they've picked second overall, which is the highest in team history.
The Reds are in trade discussions with multiple clubs. They have the talent to land a win-now starting pitcher or an everyday outfielder. Knowing that they have the second overall pick in the 2024 Draft means they can reload with a top talent, even if they trade a valuable prospect or two this offseason.
