Report: Reds Discussing Possible Dylan Cease Trade With White Sox
CINCINNATI — Will the Reds trade for White Sox ace Dylan Cease?
They're one of multiple teams expressing interest in the 27-year-old according to Jon Morosi of MLB Network.
Cease is projected to make $8.8 million next season, which makes him an attractive option for plenty of clubs, including the Reds. He also has two years of control, which makes him an extremely valuable asset that the White Sox are willing to trade.
Cease was the American League Cy Young runner-up in 2022. He took a step back in 2023, posting a 4.58 ERA and racking up 214 strikeouts in 177 innings.
A Cease trade could solidify the Reds' starting rotation.
The Orioles, Braves and Dodgers are also interested in Cease according to the report. The Reds have also talked with the Guardians about a potential Shane Bieber trade.
