Mike Saunders Named to AAC Honor Roll

The sophomore helped lead UC to a 76-67 victory over Tennessee Tech.

Bearcats guard Mike Saunders earned a spot on the AAC Honor Roll this week for his performance against the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles last Tuesday.

Saunders scored 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting off the bench as a spark plug for the Bearcats. He added two rebounds, one assist, and one steal as well.

Saunders (9.5 PPG, 2.7 APG, 2.4 RPG) has been a nice anchor for a Bearcats guard unit playing its best ball heading into AAC play. They unfortunately had the game against Houston scheduled for Tuesday ruled a no contest due to COVID issues on the Cougars roster.

The AAC has amended its rules and is not counting the game towards conference standings but is allowing schools to reschedule if they can work out the logistics.

Cincinnati’s next game is Saturday at 7 p.m. ET against Tulane. All of the action at Fifth Third Arena is available in ESPN+.
